Post-Grad Trust the process

Adjusting to adult life after college was just the first step of adjusting.

Here's my story!

My last semester in college was by far the worst semester but it started out so great. The first week of school my last semester, I said to myself, “Daionna, go for it!” Hey, it worked.

I lost focus in the beginning shortly but gained it back and started focusing on the grind after college. I got my Newsreel together and started applying for jobs (Tip: Apply 2 months before graduation). Then BOOM! The workload picked up, I had curve balls thrown at me the last week of classes, told I failed my math final, and I would not graduate. Wow, right? I was enrolled in 30 credits and my scholarship only lasted for 2 years at Bowie; I was a transfer student.

The week of graduation, I find out that my grandmother passed away Now, God has blessed me with two grandmothers in my life and I am forever grateful. My grandmothers are my world; they’re my everything so this news broke my soul. I had applied for a production assistant job in Las Vegas and I was planning to move back with my grandma, who lived in Vegas. I brought a one-way ticket 2 weeks before graduation. I was calling to share the news with her. No answer. She stopped answering the phone and stopped taking phone calls. I just couldn’t understand it; we talked every day.

A vision came to me 2 days before I walked that stage to get my degree. God said, “You’re going to be alright, trust the process.”

Five months post grad, I’ve been grinding. I started my own media business called, “Fearless Television Network.” I launched a podcast, started a blog, and I found happiness. I started trusting the process. That’s the key to post-grad. Trust the process.
